Buelah's egg soaps cannot be found anywhere else in the world! These soaps are made with eggs laid by my Buelah, a Barred Plymouth Rock hen with a hard-earned reputation for being a survivor.
Why eggs in soap? Various fatty acids contained in egg yolks (including: oleic acid, linoleic acid, palmitic acid, and others) contribute a variety of properties to soap, including: skin conditioning, cleansing, a creamy, bubbly lather, and hardening the bars. Egg whites have an astringent effect on skin (which is why egg white masks have been used for centuries). Eggs have been used in soap-making for over 100 years, most notably by the Swedish who cite the lowly egg as their secret to beautiful skin. You decide whether the Swedish are right!
Handcrafted in small batches, my soap produces a rich, luxurious lather that you will love! Each bar of soap is hand cut and will vary in weight, color and appearance from every other in the batch.
